Fleakin' Friday 11.3.17
Happy FIRST FRIDAY OF NOVEMBER!
Hope everyone had a fun Halloween, donned a great costume, and ate a lot of trick-or-treating candy - because it's now unofficially/officially Holiday Season! Union Station is putting up it's big, pretty Christmas tree as we speak, and a lot of our favorite blogs have begun rolling out their Thanksgiving content, so we're getting in the festive swing of things over here at Flea HQ. This weekend, the folks on our team are heading to the gym to make up for a week of sugar binging, showing parents around town, and hosting a baby shower. What's on your agenda?
Sending you off into the weekend with a few links and things we're loving this week:
Megan tipped us off that the Denver Film Festival and Denver Arts Week kicks off this weekend! We're talking freebies to museums, fun lectures and documentaries and much more i.e. it's time to get your culture on!
Udemy, a site that offers online courses for tech and business, is having a $10 sale on many of its classes, which lasts until 6 p.m MST tonight. Treat yo self to some learning this weekend!
One of our favorite Denver bakers and Flea vendor The Longi Pie Shop is hosting a super awesome pie and wine pairing night at The Infinite Monkey Theorem on November 15th. A night of bourbon, chocolate, and pecan pie and vino? You know we're in. Spots are limited, so reserve yours ASAP!
For those of y'all who live and work in the Downtown/LoHi area, Amy is digging Sushi Sasa's "AHH-mazing" lunchtime Tuna Poke Bowl.
Whether you consider yourself a romantic or not, you'll (probably) love New York Times' "Modern Love" column and podcast, with heartfelt stories from readers about "love, loss, and redemption."
Blake checked out Bar Helix last night and thoroughly enjoyed their bevy of sexy cocktails, such as the Fresh to Death made with Buffalo Trace bourbon, fig, and cardamon bitters.
With the colder weather we've had as of late, spend a night at Wheat Ridge Lanes and get your bowl on, with a pitstop at The Country Club bar immediately afterwards.
Another go-to cold weather spot is Book Bar on Tennyson, where you can curl up with a good book AND glass of wine/beer/coffee. Here's also a list of the best new books
Mulled apple cider is the perfect way to cheers to the weekend or banish the Sunday Scaries.
