Fleakin' Friday 2.1.19
Hey there, folks! As you may have noticed, we took a bit of a break to focus on the Union Station Holiday Market (if you stopped by for the festivities- thank you!) followed by some much needed R&R during the holidays with friends and family. Now, we’re back and ready to make great things happen in 2019 - and we hope you’re getting excited to see what we’ve got up our sleeve.
Sending you into the first weekend of February with a collection of our favorite things as of late:
The winter citrus season is wonderful but also quick. Make like Devon and bake this blood orange, almond and ricotta cake (pictured above) ASAP.
Rachael’s favorite Holiday Market find? Her Make Shit Happen Planner, which is forcing her organization to the next level.
Brass Tax, the new bar brainchild of the super talented Stuart Jensen, and soon-to-be regular happy hour haunt of the Denver Flea team, opened in LoDo this week.
For gents who might be in need of new jeans after Marie Kondo-ing your closet, Blake’s been loving his newest (and third) pair of Imogene & Willie jeans.
If one of your New Year’s resolutions was to listen to more podcasts, here’s a handy dandy how-to. If you need a rec on what to listen to, we’re all big fans of NPR’s How I Built This and Blake has been streaming the riveting Up and Vanished, an account of a cold case from Crestone, CO.
Blu-light glasses seem to be all the rage these days and our crew has opted in with frames from The Book Club.
Blake welcomed his first son, Max (!) in December, and has been keeping grandparents in Oklahoma stocked with photos thanks to wi-fi enabled Aura Frames.
Rachael is a member of the Cherry Bombe Squad and since moving back to Denver, hasn’t been able to engage at all - their cookbook is helping fill the void with amazing recipes from powerhouse ladies, all wrapped up in a gorgeous pink book.
Megan, our resident social media maven, always keeps us in the social know. This week’s lesson: the teal/orange effect isn’t just your imagination.
In our high tech-times, there’s still something undeniably valuable in having a IRL notebook to jot down notes, to dos and thoughts. Blake highly recommends this one.
Super cute downloadable tiny Valentines’ for classmates and coworkers.
Rachael’s tuning out unwanted noise and tuning into good tunes with her new House of Marley headphones. Great sound, comfortable, made with mindfully-source materials, socially conscious and owned by Bob Marley’s family - maybe we should all get a pair.
