Fleakin' Friday 2.8.19
After an extremely snowy Wednesday and -2 degree lows on Thursday, we’re grateful to have a few sunny days coming our way. We hope you have a lovely weekend, whether you spend it adventuring around Mile High or heading up high to the mountains.
A few fun things to help you SEND IT (as the kids say) this Friday:
FYI - love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is next Thursday. Some quick pointers: here’s a great list of V-Day gifts for all the loved ones in your life, Flea vendor Lana’s Shop has the cutest downloadable DIY Valentine’s, a guide on how to avoid the couples only, prix-fixe dinners in Denver and Perfect Petal or Rooted Floral Design are our go-tos for the loveliest floral bouquets.
Blake’s been all about his Bonavita Connoisseur coffee maker - in minutes it brews delicious coffee. Just add a splash of oat milk and you're ready to take on the day.
Avoid “Sad Desk Lunch” syndrome and opt for The Simple Jar, a local company that will deliver fresh salads and soups (all in cute mason jars) directly to your door each week.
Hiking is a year-round activity in Rachael’s house and these crampons come highly recommended, a must when the trails get icy. If you’re bringing the pups out in the cold as well - Rachael’s dogs sport Wuxian waterproof dog shoes, keeping their paws warm (and providing humans endlessly entertainment), and Nite Ize Pet Lit LED lights at night.
A cult favorite winter survival tool for your skin (Devon’s joined the bandwagon).
Seeking a new way to zen out when work is stressful to the maximum? Here’s a new playlist Megan found while perusing Spotify the other day. By the way, did you know Flea has their own Spotify Channel? Check it out here.
The Interwebs’ mind (and frankly, ours too) is blown by this 13-second video about how to hang a picture with a FORK.
Speaking of Spotify, their Trend Watch page is radiating with Zodiac Love. See if your Cosmic Playlists stack up.
Blake’s wife Rachel loves Mamahood’s Support Groups. The scholarship fund allows them to be donation based for people who cant afford it.
ALL the books to read this month.
Sucker for Shoppable ‘Grams? You’re not alone.
Devon’s kept Maggie Rogers’ new album on repeat since it came out a few weeks ago.
Dairy Block is hosting a spectacular Mardi Gras celebration in little less than a month. The revelry happening on March 2-3 includes an adult-only Masquerade Bacchanal on Saturday evening, followed by a family-friendly Petite Parade & Alley Party. Resident Social Media Maven, Megan, was just in New Orleans for New Year’s Eve, so you can count on her continuing the spirit of that raucous city right here in Denver!
And, on while on the subject of NOLA - head to Pirate Alley Po’ Boys pop-up for a classic taste of N’awlins.
