Fleakin' Friday 5.11.18

Signs of spring: kicking off patio-pounding season with a lineup of rose and white wines, and bright flowers spotted in West Highlands.

We're BAAAACK!

Howdy, folks! It's been a hot minute since we celebrated a Fleakin' Friday with all y'all, but we're excited to get this show back on the road! The recent weather in Denver, paired with the newly green trees and colorful blooms, has put a super big spring in our step - but we're not packing up our winter coats juuust yet. Though, since the saying goes "don't plant anything (or call winter over) until after Mother's Day," we're looking forward to summer weather - and patio season! - coming in HOT very soon.

And, while we're talking about Mother's Day - the Flea team is sending out much love to all the mamas we know, espeically our own!

Without further ado, let's switch gears into weekend mode with few links and things we're loving this week:

Heading up to the mountains this weekend? Blake just got back from an epic Colorado adventure trip, complete with an RV, and checked out two stellar spots - Marble Distillery in Carbondale, an awesome spot to have stellar drinks in impressivly designed space, and Backstreet Bistro in Ouray, where the Black Bear Burrito comes highly recommended.

For those of you with a green thumb, ready to make it bloom come summer - Megan tipped us off that the Denver Botanic Garden Spring Plant Sale is happening this weekend! It's crazy packed already, so get there early!

Some chilly weather is on the forecast for Saturday and Sunday, so if you're in the mood to curl up inside - Jo recommeds picking up The Husband's Secret, a seriously good page turner, or tuning into Wild Wild Country, an addicting cult documentary, on Netflix

Devon attended a wine tasting at Vert Kitchen in Wash Park last night, for which the charming Vert Kitchen/Over patio provided the perfect backdrop for sipping on a variety of natural summer-friendly bottles. Two standouts: Domaine du Nozay Sancerre 2016 and La Collina 'Quaresimo' Lambrusco (can "lambrusco all day" be a thing?)

We're big coffee fans here at Denver Flea HQ and one of our fave spots as of late is Rivers and Roads in the Cole 'hood. Not only can you get awesome coffee drinks made with house-roasted beans, but they have an all-star food menu to booth. Blake's go-to order is the Avocado Sandwich, .

In the need of a Hawaiian vacation but just can't get away? Head to Aloha Poke Co. at the recently opened Zepplin Station, where you can pick-and-choose what goes into your poke bowl.

For those of y'all hitting the town tonight and already looking forward to your fourth meal - look no further than the #newnew Famous Original J's, a NYC-style pizza joint in the Five Points neighborhood that's now open late Friday-Sunday. As 715 Club frequenters, we're very into it.

A few of us scored some Zeal sunnies at Spring Flea and we're lovin' the Crowley and Fleetwood styles.

And, for some #balance to that aformentinoed 3 a.m. pizza - pick up a pint or two of NadaMoo! dairy-free ice cream, a surefire cure for those hangover anxieties and Sunday Scaries. Try the Caramel, Cold-Brew, and Cookies or That Snickerdoodle Dough flavors and thank us later.
