Fleakin' Friday 5.25.18

Colorado adventuring: the outdoor scene at Sanitas Brewing in Boulder, and the enviable decor + gallery wall found at The Emporium Kitchen and Wine Market in Fort Collins.

Happy Friday aka the start to Memorial Day Weekend!

It may be the “unofficial” start of summer, but it’s gonna be a HOT one out there - and we plan on taking full advantage with some meals al fresco, neighborhood festivals, pool days, and live music (one of us may be going Taylor Swift at Pepsi Center tonight…). Whatever you’re getting into between now and Tuesday a.m., we hope it’s SUPER fun.

And, without further ado, sending you off into the holiday weekend with some things we’re loving lately.

Itching to get out of Denver this weekend? A few of us treked up to Boulder and Fort Collins last week to check out a few local gems. We loved the outdoor patio and greenery at Sanitas Brewing in Boulder, where you can not only get some stellar brews but also A++ tacos. In FC, we stopped by Sage Hospitality's lovely new hotel, The Elizabeth Hotel. While there, we enjoyed a Black Forest Ham Panini and Negronis at The Emporium Kitchen and Wine Market and took in a stunning birds-eye view of the city from the Sunset Lounge (along with a few more classy cocktails and bites, natch).

Also for the adventurers out there - Megan explored Moab last weekend and HIGHLY suggests a pitstop at Milt's Stop and Eat on your way out (or in!) for quality burgers and killer shakes. Pro tip: order the Raspberry Shake and don't look back.

If heading to Moab this weekend, be sure to stop by Milt’s Stop and Eat on your way out (or in!) for quality burgers and killer shakes. Pro Tip: RASPBERRY SHAKE!

Hey gents - need to fresh up your wardbrobe for the warmer months? Blake got himself the Italian Brushed Five-Pocket Pants from Bonobos and gives them two thumbs way way up.

Now that the weather has taken the turn for the warmer, our team is back to rocking our Espiritu shoes, which are perfect for both brewery hopping in RiNo or a Mexican vacay.

Other than streaming the new Denver Flea Spotify playlists 24/7, Devon has been all about the Elton John "Revamp" Playlist ("Tiny Dancer" by Florence and the Machine for the repeat) and the new Leon Bridges album.

In the world of sandwiches, a French Dip might just be, as the kids are saying these days, GOAT (aka "greatest of all time"). So, it's no surprise that the Flea team is feeling pretty lucky that Pony Up, a new cocktail bar popping up across the street from our office this Fall, will offer several variations of French Dips. Heck yes.

For the foodies out there, we suggest you head to Super Mega Bien at The Ramble Hotel, for Latin American dim sum from the creative culinary mind behind Work & Class, Dana Rodriguez (just trust us).

For the foodies looking to save some $$ and stay healthy, Megan and Devon are big fans of blogger Lee from America and highly recommend reading over her grocery list + tips for some fresh inspo.

Dave's on the CreativeMornings Dener team and invites all y'all Fleaks to join in for the next event on June 8th, for a talk with photographer Armando Geneyro that is part of their series on Craft.

There's nothing quite like having fresh flowers at home - and for those of us on a budget, Cup of Jo gives you the 4-1-1 on how to make grocery store-bought blooms (we're looking at you, Trader Joe's $4.99 bouquets) look super profesh.
