I <3 CO : Three Fun Things
The weather here in Denver appears to have lost its marbles again - a high of 80 yesterday and a sharp drop into the 30s with chances of snow today (the native Southern Californian on our team is still getting used to this routine). Thus is Coloradoan life, we guess! Whether the chilly weather has you happily bundling up or straight up down in the seasonal dumps, we've got a few fun things to keep you going till the weekend.
if you're in the mood to go out on a thursday
MCA Denver, the Flea team's #1 Denver cultural establishment, is taking over Sports Castle (i.e. where our Holiday Flea is going to be this year!) on Thursday night for their Luminocity Gala Afterparty. Set to the soundtrack supplied by a DJ set from Neon Indian, the soiree celebrates architect Sir David Adjaye, who designed the MCA's current building ten years ago. Bonus: guests are asked to dress "voguish," so it's the perfect reason to actually break out your highest heels in Mile High.
If you're in search of something to brighten yor week (and your accessories game)
Check out these awesomely awesome constellation necklaces from Maggie Kyle of Oxbow Designs, a local jewelry designer and good friend of the Flea team. Whether it's for yourself or a friend's birthday, these gold beauties are a subtle yet lovely way to add some bling to your routine while celebrating your favorite horoscope.
If you geeeked out on stranger things as much as we did last season
Just in time for Halloween, our favorite sci-fi Netflix pick, Stranger Things, returns for it's second season on Friday - and Rebel Restaurant is throwin' a viewing partay to celebrate! Starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, you can figure out happened to Barb, Eleven, and the rest of the gang with a showing of the first two episodes of season two, while carving pumpkins, sipping on spooky-inspired libations, and creative snacks.
